Wine making process
Ruins of a 12th century church and vestiges of an old medieval tower can be found on the site of Tréviac. There are many local folklore stories about the tower and it is for this reason Arnaud Sié decided to call this wine the Légende du Château de Tréviac.
The vineyard is established on chalky clay soils and the average yield is 35 hl/ha.
The crop is totally hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard. The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed when they arrive into the cellar.
A 4 to 5 week maceration follows, with regular, gentle manipulation of the cap to provide extraction but without bitterness.
Tasting notes
The colour is bright and deep.
Nose: A nice bouquet perfumed with black berries, plum and fig characterizes this lovely wine.
Mouth: The great ripeness of this top quality Grenache gives a smooth, full bodied wine. Palate is juicy and velvety.
La légende du Château de Tréviac will be the perfect partner for a large range of meat dishes. |
