Vin du Pays d’Oc

It is in the heart of the Languedoc, between Beziers and Carcassonne, that Lavila is sourced. Lavila is the result of a rigorous selection of the best available parcels in the area. This selection is carried out by our winemakers in August, just prior to vintage. By tasting at this time they are able to determine the optimal time to harvest. The goal is to find grapes with good fruit concentration and freshness.

Grape Varieties

Syrah 50%
Cinsaut 50 %

Winemaking
The harvest is carried out in the early morning. The Cinsault grapes are directly pressed but the Syrah grapes crushed and then left to soak in the juice to provide colour. After ten days of cold fermentation the wine is left to rest on its lees for up to 3 months in order to develop greater flavour.

Tasting notes
The colour is vibrant pink with violet glints. The nose is very intense, with notes of blackcurrant leaf and raspberry. The palate is well balanced; the Syrah offers spice and aromatics, the Cinsault softness and freshness.

The wine is full flavoured and this makes it a good partner with many foods. Serve cold at 11C
