LES TERRES ROUGES
AOC Coteaux du Languedoc |
|
Grape Varietal
Syrah 80 %
Grenache 20 %
Wine making process
The vineyard is 30 years old and is on south facing slopes on top of which you can see the sea. The chalky –clayey soil, with iron oxide particles, has a red colour, that’s why this cuvee is called “Terres rouges”. The 45 hl/ha yield allows a perfect ripeness.
Grenache and Syrah are traditionally made.
After de-stemming and crushing , the maceration lasts about three weeks.
Tasting notes
Deep red colour with blue hints
Nose : Seductive, soft fragrances of red berries and hints of spices.
The mouth is full and the tannins are firm and ripe.
This cuvee is perfect with all red meats dishes, BBQ or cheese.
Terres Rouges 2003 had the 2006 silver medal in the “ Concours des Vignerons Indépendants” and is mentioned in the Guide Hachette 2006
