Twice a year Jane McQuitty MW (The Times Wine Columnist) compiles a list of The 'Top 100 Wines' for Summer and Winter. These wines are considered to be the best value wines available in the UK. It rates the wines in different price categories, with  Richard priced at £3.05 (inc VAT) it falls into the under £5 category. This year we have gone one better and been awarded the 'Star Buy' and best value wine in the under £5 ategory for the 'Top 100 Summer Red Wines'.

Subject: mary dowey recommendation Monastier Pinot Noir Vin de Pays d'Oc 2004. There aren't too many tempting versions of of Pinoit Noir from the Languedoc: the warm climate makes this delicate grape turn all jammy and flat-footed. But look at this bargain!
From the relatively cool Limoux region, it has a nice herbal edge and refreshing acidity as well as the generous red fruit flavours you would expect. An easy summer red to quaff by itself, or try it with slightly spicy food. From Dunnes Stores, €7.99.
